Organizing in another North Carolina town? We drafted a model ‘public-vote-first’ resolution any board of commissioners or council can adopt — a public vote before deployment, nationwide data-sharing shut off, mandatory monthly external audits, and hard vendor limits. The floor if a board won’t remove the technology.
We’re filming short, 20–30-second videos of everyday residents — every age, background, and party — saying, in their own words, why warrantless Flock surveillance worries them. Rutherford County — residents petitioning commissioners to remove existing Flock systems and halt ALPR expansion
Dare County — residents organizing against Flock/ALPR surveillance on the Outer Banks
Hubert & eastern Onslow County — a nonpartisan, records-based civic group. Its PlateRanger/ALPR investigation compiles the county’s procurement, contract, invoices, and policies from primary documents, and publishes all five Onslow commissioner candidates’ ALPR responses in full.
